Merrimack County Savings Bank (The Merrimack) is supporting summer camp programs at the White Birch Center in Henniker with a $10,000 contribution. The funds will help secure transportation for field trips, allowing the Center to expand the capacity of group outings and ensure all school-age children can participate.
“Summer is all about having fun and we want every child to be able to enjoy experiences that they may not have access to outside of camp,” said Linda Lorden, President of The Merrimack. “As a mutual bank, we’re glad to be able to give back and make a meaningful impact in the community.”
Campers enjoy visits to state parks, Fisher Cats games, the Boston Children’s Museum, Polar Caves and many more. But currently, the White Birch Center only accommodates up to 14 passengers on current buses, limiting the number of children who can participate in off‑site activities.
“Thanks to The Merrimack, more campers will be able to explore new environments, connect with peers and engage in learning experiences beyond the classroom,” said Leanna Lorden, Chief Operating Officer at White Birch Center.
